Last Night

I had high high hopes for last night and it didn't really pan out. As per usual I got way to drunk. No more djing on xanax. It's bad enough that I'm not any good at playing music, adding mind altering pharmaceuticals just makes me on the decks, unbearable. Thank god DLRD was there to save me. Went to Beauty Bar for while, loved what PREPMODE was playing. Sorry if I ran into you and thought you were someone else. That tends to happen a lot when I take pills. Woke up with my jacket and shoes on.
I'm getting really excited about THE TWELVES show on December 13th. It's still in the air with what venue we're going to do it at. Both are awesome, it's just a matter of money. Tickets will be on sale by Weds. They'll be 10 dollars, that includes free beer and free vodka. I just talked to the beer sponsor, they already agreed to give us 3000 beers, and more if we need it. So don't think we're going to run out. Same for vodka. Email me if you have any questions.

BEAUTY BAR TONIGHT... for real this time

Okay... last night was a little strange. Things didn't get as crazy as I thought they would, but I had fun nonetheless. But for real, tonight Beauty Bar is going to be off the hook. Austin's newest member to the dj scene, PREPMODE, is going to throw down with KING LOUIE. They'll be switching off every half hour so expect an interesting and fun two hours from these guys.

PRINCE KLASSEN TONIGHT AT BEAUTY BAR

PRINCE KLASSIN is one of the best DJ's in Austin. He plays that boogie woogie that gets the crowds moving. It's Beauty Bar, so I imagine it'll be full... and the kids like that.

PLUSH TONIGHT

My boy RICHARD GEAR will be doing an early (10-1130) set at Plush tonight. I don't really go to this bar, just because the DJ's don't play the stuff that I like, but that doesn't mean it won't be right down your alley. It's small and get's packed quick, and who doesn't like that?

GOBI @ The Parish TONIGHT

Local live electronic band GOBI do their thing at The Parish this friday. After seeing SOULWAX in LA this past Halloween, I realized how amazing live dance music is. I mean don't get me wrong, I love the DJ thing, but to hear something come together from live instruments that can make you move, well, it's a beautiful thing. Not to mention The Parish has some of the best sound in Austin. So come on out, it's only $5 bucks, and enjoy something you don't get to see nearly enough.

NEW PRODIGY TRACK

Yes... that's right. The one and only THE PRODIGY, of Firestarter and Smack My Bitch Up fame are back with some serious ear goodness. This track is exactly what you would expect from these guys. Hard hitting and in your face, not to mention the industrial grinding sound that made them famous in the first place. I'm actually glad they didn't try to reinvent the wheel with this and try to sound like JUSTICE or something.
